Learn to fly fish in time for the start of the new trout season at Goulburn Valley Fly Fishing Centre this August.
Our comprehensive one or two day introduction to fly fishing workshops will give you express entry into the sport and cut years from the learning process. We take you through all you need to know, cutting out the superfluous and focusing on the most important aspects. Everything from gear to knots, insects to trout behavior is explained and illustrated in a practical way. This is no stuffy workshop with lots of note taking and theory.
The workshop commences at 9.30am on Saturday August 27 at our fly fishing centre in Thornton. We provide all of the gear including flies, rods, waders, morning/afternoon tea, lunch and instruction. All you need to bring is appropriate clothing and a willingness to learn.
All are welcome to participate regardless of experience level. While it is a beginner's workshop in name, many intermediate fly fishers will also get a lot out of it..
The first day is a comprehensive introduction that touches on everything needed to fly fishing successfully. The cost of this day is $170. Those wishing to continue on the following day will be able to revise and extend on what they learned on day one. There will also be more casting tuition and fishing time as well as more personalised time due to lower group numbers. The cost of the two days is $290.
Both days end at 5.30pm back at the fly fishing centre.
