Our
Lakes
Situated
on the outskirts of the town of Thornton we operate a 16 Acre
property that is laced with waterways, lakes and ponds. This
ideal setting is the base for all our operations but as a
fishery in its own right it contains some unique angling with
large trophy sized trout available.
The
rear of the property opens onto the Goulburn River. The largest
of our lakes is about 8 acres in size with the plenty of other
smaller waterways including the Ham Bone Pool, Stalking Pools
and the meandering stream. All are interconnected and fed
with gin clear cold water from the Goulburn River. This ensures
permanent high quality fishing all year round and all our
Fly Fishing workshops are conducted here with students taken
through graduated experiences culminating on the Goulburn
River.
The
large lake is home to excellent sight fishing, midge
hatches, beetle falls and fish rounding up batfish in
the shallows. On any day of the year fish will be found rising
and a good mix of both browns and rainbows ensures something
will be happening at most times. There is a strict Catch and
release policy. Fish by the half day or full day and enjoy
the quality of a private fishery with expert advice a stone's
throw away. Phone to book or simply arrive.
