Foam Body Hopper  by Ray Butterworth

HOOK  Daichii 1180 # 16

THREAD  Yellow

BODY Scintilla Fly-Buoy foam. Colour Smokey Tan

LEGS Dyna Floss Colour Scarlet or Orange

HACKLE  Ginger or Brown

METHOD

Tie in foam body back to bend of hook, pull forward, then use thread to rib over three or four turns. This should have you up to just short of the eye. Loop your leg material between foam and top of hook shank and tie off. This will lift foam up from the hook eye. Tie in hackle at the same point, give it several turns and tie off. Trim foam to just past eye of the hook and round it off to form head, tie off with several half hitches.

See article in issue #45 of Freshwater Fishing for further details.
